deposit (v.) 存款
在 withdraw 後面加上 –al 名詞字根，則是指「提款」、「提醒領出來的款項」唷！軍隊中會用到的「撤軍」可以說 troop withdrawal，而 withdraw from 是「從…提取」。deposit 作為名詞有「保證金、押金」的意思。存款帳戶叫做 deposit account。
A: Is there a transaction fee every time I withdraw?
B: There is a 5-dollar service charge for withdrawing money.
A: 每次提領會收取手續費嗎？
B: 我們酌收 5 元的提款手續費。
ATM (Automated Teller Machine) (n.) 自動提款機
automated 是「自動的」，teller 是指「出納員、計票員」，machine 是「機器」的意思。automated 寫成 automatic 也可以喔！
A: That will be 160 dollars, Sir.
B: Do you take credit cards?
A: We are sorry for your inconvenience but the credit card reader is out of order.
B: Is there an ATM nearby?
A: Yes, there is an ATM on the east side of the lobby.
A: 先生您今天的消費總共是 160 元。
B: 請問可刷卡嗎 ？
A: 很抱歉！我們的刷卡機故障了，希望您能諒解。
B: 那請問這附近有提款機嗎？
A: 有的，在一樓大廳的東側有提款機。

branch (n.) 分行
headquarters (n.) 總部
headquarters 雖然字尾有s ，但它其實是一個單數名詞。若去除 s 則變成動詞 headquarter，意指「設立總部」。general headquarters 是「大本營、統帥部、總司令部」。

I have an important meeting at headquarters this Friday, could you book a plane ticket for me?
我星期五在總部有一場重要的會議，可能幫我訂機票嗎？
transfer (v.) 轉帳
trans- 是表示「超越、穿透」的字首，-fer 則是「攜帶、生育、承受」的意思。許多單字都有用到 trans- 這個字首，例如 transform (v.) 使改變；使改觀、translate (v.) 翻譯；解釋、 transport (v.) 運輸。
I would like to transfer 1 million dollars to my checking account.
我想存一百萬元到我的活期存款戶頭。
checking account (n.) 活期存款戶頭
fixed deposit/time deposit/certificate of deposit (n.) 定存
current/demand deposit (n.) 活存
A: Hi, I would like to transfer 10,000 dollars from checking account to fixed deposit.
B: No problem, please let me know your current deposit number.
A: 您好，我想從我的活存帳戶裏轉一萬元到定存帳戶。
B: 好的，請您把活存的帳戶資料給我。
預算相關
budget (n.) 預算
budget 除了當名詞之外，當動詞有「節省開支；審慎花錢」的意思。作為形容詞是指「平價的：合算的」。「在預算內」可以說 on/within budget。
If the government increases the spending or lowers the tax rate in order to stimulate its economic growth, budget deficit may occur.
若政府為了刺激經濟成長而增加支出或降低稅率，預算可能會不足。

on a layaway / installment plan 分期付款
layaway 是指「保留代付商品」，installment 是「一期、分批」。分期付款也可以用payment installment 或是 installment payment。需要使用分期付款的商品通常價格很高，可以說 beyond one’s means，表示「某人的財力無法負擔」。分期付款需先支付一筆頭期款以保留商品，「頭期款」的說法是 down payment。
A: I bought a new motorcycle on a layaway plan/an installment plan.
B: How much did you pay for the down payment?
A: I put 1,000 dollars down first then.
A: 我用分期付款買了一台新的機車。
B: 那你頭期款付了多少？
A: 我先付了一千元。
bad debt (n.) 呆帳、壞帳
應收帳款中無法收回的部分稱為「呆帳」。dead account、bad account 也是呆帳的其他說法。
be in the red (n.) 赤字、虧損
通常成績單不及格都會被用紅色標記，而記帳的時候，也會將虧損的部分用紅色註記，所以赤字就衍伸為「虧損、未達標準」的意思。
in debt (n.) 負債中
A: Will you attend Lisa’s birthday party on Friday night?
B: You know what? I’m in debt. To be honest, I maxed out my credit card last month.
A: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that.
B: Don’t worry! Thanks for inviting me.
A: 你星期五晚上會去 Lisa 的慶生趴嗎？
B: 你知道嗎？我現在負債中。老實說，我上個月把信用卡刷爆了。
A: 噢！我很遺憾聽到這件事。
B: 沒關係，但很感謝你的邀請。
